SS. Peter & Paul School Family Newsletter Week of April 21 – 25, 2008
NO PIZZA – Pizza will not be served on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 due to the 8th grade trip to Chicago. Please send a lunch with your child.
Milk - Milk is due for the month of May on Friday, May 25 , 2008. Milk is $3.00 for either white or chocolate. Please specify the flavor on the envelope.
Fall Registration – Forms were sent home for fall registration. The forms are due in the school office by Wednesday, April 30. Please note monthly payments with Facts program begin in
July and run through April. Payments in full for tuition are due by June 15, 2008.
Computer & PE – Computer and PE classes will have a change in schedule this week. Computer will run on Monday and Tuesday and PE will run on Wednesday and Thursday.
DARE Graduation – The 5th grade class will graduate from the DARE program on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 in church at 1:00 PM. Parents are invited to attend the graduation.
Week of April 7 – 11, 2008
8th Grade No School – The 8th grade class will not have school on Friday, April 11 due to Confirmation.
Market Day Pickup- Market Day Pickup will be held on Tuesday, April 8 from 5:00 – 6:00 PM in the school gym.
Glo–Bowl – The 8th grade is sponsoring an afternoon of bowling at Riverboat Lanes on Sunday, April 13 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM. The cost for the bowling is $10.00 per person for three games of bowling, popcorn, and a soda. Please fill out the form attached with the $10.00 per person and send to school by Friday, April 11, 2008.
Confirmation – The sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated on Friday, April 11, 2008 at 7:00 PM. 8th graders need to be in the annex hallway no later than 6:45 PM.
Calendar Change – SS. Peter & Paul School will be in session on Friday, April 18 instead of an inservice day.
8th Grade Free Dress Day –The 8th grade will sponsor a free dress day on Thursday, April 10 for $1.50.
Pre-School- Please welcome Mrs. Mary Everitt to our school family as the pre-school teacher for the 2008 – 2009 school year. We are looking forward to the opening of our new pre-school next
year. If you have any questions, please call the school office at 465-8711.
Transportation Reimbursement - The forms for the Pupil Transportation Reimbursement from the State of Illinois are available in the school office until the last day of school. You must live 11/2
miles from school and provide transportation to and from school. Please calculate your mileage before coming to the school office.
WANTED: POETS- The school library is sponsoring a Poetry drawing on Thursday, April 17th to celebrate National Poetry Month and National Library Week (April 13 – 19). To enter the drawing, a student must write an original poem. One student in each participating grade will be randomly selected to receive a prize. Students should turn in their poems to their teacher by Wednesday, April 16th.

Market Day – Market Day orders are due on Monday, March 31, 2008. Pickup will be Tuesday, April 8, 2008 from 5:00 – 6:00 PM.
Confirmation Dinner Reservations – Confirmation Dinner Reservations are due on Monday, March 31, 2008.
Protecting God's Children – The workshop "Protecting God's Children" will be offered at St.Mary's on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in Suddes Hall. Please call St. Mary's
Rectory to register.
8th Grade Garage Sale – The 8th grade will hold a garage sale on Saturday, March 29, 2008 from 7:30 – 2:00 PM in the school gym. Donations are being accepted at the gym.
8th Grade Free Dress Day – The 8th grade will hold a free dress day on Wednesday, April 3, 2008. Free dress is $1.50. Students may wear jeans, capris, or long shorts with a nice shirt. NO SHORT SHORTS!
Trivia – The 5th to 8th grade classes will participate in the Alton Catholic Schools Trivia on Thursday, April 3 at St. Matthews or St. Ambrose. A permission slip will come home with each student.
Bake Sale - The 8th grade will sponsor a bake sale on Friday, April 4. Items will be priced from .25 to 1.00.
