SS. Peter & Paul School Family Newsletter Sunday, January 27, 2008 – Open House 10:00 AM – 12:00 noon / Mass at 10:00 AM to kickoff Catholic Schools week! Everyone is welcome to attend! Monday, January 28, 2008 – Crazy Hat/ Silly Socks Day- Wear a crazy hat or silly socks to school today with your uniform. The 6th – 7th – 8th grades will attend a area Middle School mass at Marquette today at 1:00 PM. Tuesday, January 29, 2008 - Tacky Tourist Day – Dress like a tacky tourist today! The annual 8th grade vs. faculty volleyball game at 1:00 PM . (Wear tennis shoes for PE) Wednesday, January 30, 2008 – National Appreciation Day for Catholic Schools – Teacher Appreciation Day – History Day - Students should dress like a person from history today or a saint. (NO POP CULTURE PERSONALITIES) Mr. Gib Young will give his presentation of President Theodore Roosevelt at 1:00 PM in the gym. Thursday, January 31, 2008 – Blue & Gold Day! Wear jeans and a blue and gold shirt to shoe your SSPP pride! Marquette Catholic High School poms will do a presentation at 9:30 AM and the 5th – 8th graders will participate in the Knights of Columbus Spelling Bee at 1:00 PM at St. Ambrose School. Friday, February 1 – Student Appreciation Day – Grades K – 4 will bowl at Riverboat Lanes from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and Grades 5 – 8 will bowl from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM. Students may wear jeans and t-shirt for the day with tennis shoes for bowling. YOU ARE WELCOME TO JOIN US FOR THE ACTIVITIES THIS WEEK! Market Day – orders are due on January, 28, 2008. Order pickup is February 5, 2008. SSPP Trivia Night – SS. Peter & Paul School Trivia Night will be held on February 23, 2008 at 6:30 PM at Marquette Catholic High School. All proceeds benefit SS. Peter & Paul School. Trivia is $15.00 per person or $120.00 per table. Young Authors Books – Young Authors Manuscripts are due on February 8, 2008. Please turn in finished manuscripts to your homeroom teacher. Yearbook orders – Attached is an order form for yearbooks. Yearbooks cost $9.00. Please make checks payable to SS. Peter & Paul School. Orders are due on February 8,, 2008.
Week of January 14 – 18, 2008 Scholastic Book Fair – The Scholastic Book Fair will open on Monday, January 14 and run to Wednesday, January 23, 2008. Each class will visit the book fair during school hours. Attached is an order form with some of the titles from the Book Fair. Please make all checks payable to SS. Peter & Paul School. GLS Script Certificates – If you would like to order gift certificates through the school, please contact Barb Gable at 462-2494 or call the school office. The school now receives a larger percentage for each gift certificate sold. Trivia Night – SS. Peter & Paul School will host a Trivia Night on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 7:00 PM at Marquette Catholic High School. Attached is a flyer to make reservations and information. Mark your calendars to attend and have a fun evening. All proceeds benefit SS. Peter & Paul School. Catholic Schools Week – Sunday, January 27 opens Catholic Schools Week 2008. This year's theme is "Catholic Schools: Light the Way." We will have an Open House on Sunday, January 28 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon. The 10:00 AM mass on Sunday, January 28 will officially open the week! A complete schedule of all events will come home next week. Looking Ahead –
Week of January 7 – 11, 2008 Happy New Year! Raging Rivers - Raging Rivers reading forms are due on Monday, January 7, 2008. Please complete the form and return it to your homeroom teacher. PSA Meeting – The PSA will meet on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 6:30 PM in the cafeteria. If you attend the meeting, your child(ren) have free dress on the next day! (Wednesday, January 9, 2008) Report Cards – Report Cards for the 2nd quarter will be issued on Friday, January 11, 2008. Market Day Pickup – Market day orders may be picked up on Friday, January 11, 2008 from 5:00 – 6:00 PM in the school cafeteria. Book Fair - The Scholastic Book Fair will run from Monday, January 14 to Wednesday, January 23, 2008. Students may select books from the fair and make purchases in the office. We will also fill orders each day. Make checks payable to SS. Peter & Paul School. We are required to charge tax for all purchases!
