Week of March 24 – 28, 2008

Classes resume- SSPP school will resume on Tuesday, March 25, 2008.

Sports Uniforms – Please return basketball uniforms to the office if you have not already done so. Uniforms must be clean and in a bag with the child's name.

Milk – Milk is due for the month of April. Milk is $3.00 per month for white or chocolate. Orders are due by Friday, March 28.

8^th Grade Garage Sale – The 8^th grade will sponsor a garage sale on Saturday, March 29 from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Donations may be dropped off at the gym and placed on the stage.

Confirmation dinner – Reservations for the Confirmation dinner are due by Monday, March 31 in the school office.

Week of March 17 – 21, 2008

Pre-School Registration – Pre-School Registration will be held on Monday, March 17 from 6:00 – 7:00 PM in the school office. 

St. Patrick's Day – Monday, March 17 is St. Patrick's Day. Students may wear jeans, capris, or long shorts with a green shirt. 

Easter Vacation - There is a change in the Easter vacation. Classes will resume on Tuesday, March 25 instead of Thursday, March 27, 2008. 

Holy Thursday – 2 couples are still needed for the washing of feet at Holy Thursday mass on March 20, 2008 at 7:00 PM.

Spring Pictures – Wagner Portrait Studios will take Spring Pictures on Tuesday, March 18 beginning at 8:30 AM. Students may wear a nice shirt and slacks or jeans for the pictures. Proofs will be sent home to purchase pictures.

Milk – Milk for the month of April is due on Friday, March 28, 2008. Milk is $3.00 for either white or chocolate.

8^th Grade Garage Sale - The 8^th grade class is having a garage sale on Saturday, March 29 from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM in the school gym. Donations may be dropped off at the gym and placed on the stage.

Report Cards - Report Cards for the 3^rd quarter will be sent home on Wednesday, March 19.

Reconciliation – Students in Grades 2 -8 will celebrate the sacrament of Reconciliation on Wednesday, March 19, 2008. 

1^st Grade Basket Raffle - The first grade class is raffling off two candy and toy filled Easter baskets to raise money for the Holy Childhood Association. Tickets are .25 each or five for $1.00. Winners will be announced on March 19^th.

Golf Tournament – The SSPP Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, April 19^th at Spencer T. Olin Golf Course. There is a 1:00 PM shotgun start. Registration will begin at 11:30 AM. Lunch will be provided. Proceeds to benefit the parish. For information or register to play call Dave Stafford at the rectory 465-4221 or Frank Begnel at 466- 6015.

Young Authors – The following students' manuscripts have been selected to participate in the Young Authors Program at SIUE in April. Congratulations to our 2008 Young Authors.

Week of March 3 – 7, 2008

Pre-school Registration – Pre-school registration will be held on Monday, March 3 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the school office for 3 and 4 year olds for the Fall of 2008. The 3 year old program will be two days a week and the four year old program will be three days a week. A baptismal and birth certificate are due at the time of registration. There is a $70.00 registration fee due at the time of registration.

Kindergarten Screening & Registration - Kindergarten registration & screening will be held on Monday, March 10 and Tuesday, March 11 for Fall of 2008. Appointments are now being taken for the screening. Please call the office at 465-8711 for an appointment. A baptismal and birth certificate are due at the time of registration. The child must be five years old on or before September 1, 2008. 

Transportation Reimbursement – The forms for the State of Illinois Transportation Reimbursement are available in the office. If you live 1 ½ miles from school and provide transportation, you qualify for the reimbursement. Please calculate your miles to and from school before coming to the school office to fill out your claim. The claim forms will be available until the last day of school. Reimbursement checks are usually mailed out in December.

Schedule Change – Students will have PE on Monday and Computer on Tuesday, so please wear tennis shoes on Monday.

Market Day – Market Day pickup is Tuesday, March 4, 2008 from 5:00 – 6:00 PM in the school cafeteria.

Movie Night – The 8^th grade will sponsor a movie night on Friday, March 7 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the school cafeteria for students in Grades K – 5. Admission is $5.00 for soda and popcorn.  A sign up form will be sent home on Monday. Students must be signed in by a parent in the cafeteria.

Bowling – The bowling field trip has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 13, 2008. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate!!!! A new permission slip will be sent home with the students. 

Jeans Day – The 8^th grade will sponsor a jeans day on Thursday, March 6 for $1.50. Wear jeans and a T-shirt for $1.50 for the day and help support the 8^th grade!
