SS. Peter & Paul School Family Newsletter Dear Parents, Here are a few additional items of information to add to your note from last week! Canned goods – We will accept canned good donations until Tuesday, November 20 for Catholic Charities. Thank you for your generosity with this food campaign. You have made a big difference in our community this holiday season. 50/50 - Congratulations to Tom Croxton! Tom is the lucky winner of the October 50/50 drawing. It is not too late to enter the November drawing and win extra cash for the holidays! The cost to enter is $10.00 per month and you can send your check through the school or parish or mail directly to Attn: Colleen Gaskill – 4719 D'Adrian Court – Godfrey, IL 62035. Please call 466-2099 with any questions. Market Day Pick-Up – Pie pickup will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM in the cafeteria. Thanksgiving Dinner – The PSA will serve all the students a free turkey dinner on Tuesday, November 20. Students do not need a lunch that day! Thanksgiving Vacation - SSPP school will dismiss at noon on Wednesday, November 21. Classes resume on Monday, November 26, 2007. Hot Lunch – Hot Lunch order forms are attached for December . Hot Lunch is due on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 by 11:30 AM. Candle Orders – Candle orders are due on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 with the order payment. Order forms have been sent home with each student. Picture Retakes - Picture retakes will be held on November 27, 2007. If you want your child to have his/her picture retaken on that day, please send the picture packet to the school office. Foster Grandparent Program - SS. Peter & Paul is pleased to announce we are participating in the Foster Grandparent program. Please welcome Mrs. Donna Pritzker to our school. She will be working with the students and teachers this year! Christmas program - SS. Peter & Paul Christmas program will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 7:00 PM in church. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend
Week of November 12 – 16, 2007 P.E. - Please send your child to school in tennis shoes on Monday, November 12 and Tuesday, November 13, 2007. The gym will be closed beginning on Wednesday, November 14 due to the Christmas bazaar. Students will have computer classes on Wednesday and Thursday this week! Canned Food Drive – Please send in canned goods with your child so we can refill the pantry shelves at the Alton Catholic Charities for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. We will accept turkeys and hams the week of Nov. 12 – 19 at the school. The food drive is sponsored by the Student Council as one of their service projects. The class that turns in the most canned goods will receive a free dress day. PSA Thanksgiving Dinner – The PSA will serve Thanksgiving Dinner on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 to all SSPP students. PSA – The PSA will meet on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 6:30 PM in the cafeteria. Bazaar – SS. Peter & Paul Annual Christmas Bazaar will be held on Saturday, November 17 in the gym from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Dinner is served in the cafeteria from 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM. Thanksgiving Vacation – SS. Peter & Paul School will dismiss for Thanksgiving Vacation on Wednesday, November 21 at noon. Classes will resume on Monday, November 26, 2007. Progress Reports - Progress Reports for the 2nd quarter will be mailed out Thanksgiving Week. Christmas program – The Christmas program will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 7:00 PM in the church. Please mark your calendars.
Week of November 5 – 9, 2007 Market Day – Market Day orders are due on Wednesday, November 7, 2007. Pickup day is Tuesday, November 20. Parent-Teacher Conferences - School will dismiss at noon on Thursday, November 8 for Parent – Teacher Conferences. (4:00 – 8:00 PM) School will not be in session on Friday, November 9 due to Parent-Teacher Conferences. Pizza – Pizza orders for Wednesday, November 7 are due on Tuesday, November 6. Pizza is $1.50 per slice. Christmas Program – SS. Peter & Paul Christmas program will be held on Thursday, December 13 at 7:00 PM in the church. Please mark your calendars! Thanksgiving Food Drive – The student council will again sponsor a canned food drive during the month of November for Alton Catholic Charities. Each grade will compete to have free dress by bringing in the most canned goods. If we double the number of canned goods from last year, the entire school will receive free dress. We are also collecting turkeys and hams during this drive and we would like to have them the week before Thanksgiving. (Nov. 12 – 16)
