Protecting God's Children The workshop "Protecting God's Children" will be presented at St. Mary's Suddes Hall on Monday, October 29, 2007 from 6:00 9:00 PM. All parish and school volunteers must
attend this workshop prior to helping with any programs with children.
Uniforms There are a number of school uniforms (SSPP sweatshirts long pants shirts jumpers) available at the after school program Please feel free to look over these items at the After School
Program.
8th Grade Movie Night The 8th grade is sponsoring a Movie Night on Friday, October 29, 2007 in the gym for Grades K 4.
A parent must sign his/her child in at the door and leave phone number where he/she can be reached during this event! The movie night will be from 6:00 8:00 PM.
Admission is $5.00 for the movie and soda. The Disney Pixar Film "The Robinsons" will be shown.
Sweatshirts - Order forms for SS. Peter & Paul Sweatshirts are due in the school office on Monday, October 29.
Mission Carnival SS. Peter & Paul School will hold our 22nd annual Mission Carnival on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 from 12:45 2:15 PM. Parents and preschoolers are welcome! Tickets are 4 for $1.00 with all proceeds benefiting the Holy Childhood Association. Students may dress in Halloween costumes for the day.
Please refer to page 18 of the parent handbook for regulations regarding Halloween costumes. Dues of $1.50 per child is still being collected by the homeroom teacher for the Holy Childhood Association.
Report Cards Report Cards for the first quarter will be sent home on Friday, October 26.
Milk Milk orders are due on Friday, October 26 for the month of November. Milk is $3.00 per month for white or chocolate. Please specify flavor on the order.
Red Ribbon Week This week is National Red Ribbon Week! Say NO TO DRUGS!
SS. Peter & Paul will celebrate this week with the following activities:
Monday- Red shirt and jeans Day! - Students may wear jeans or capris ONLY with a red shirt for the day! 8th grade will decorate the grounds with red ribbons.
Tuesday Middle School students will celebrate mass together at St. Ambrose with the other area Catholic Middle Schools. The mass theme is "Respect All Life".
Wednesday National Red Ribbon Day!
Students will be given a Red Ribbon to wear today with their uniforms. Students will be given educational materials to go learn in class today about the dangers of drug use.
Thursday We will say a rosary in church at 9:00 AM for those people who suffering from addiction to drugs.
Hot Lunch Hot Lunch orders are due on Wednesday, October 24, 2007. The order form is attached.
Week of October 15 19, 2007
Early Dismissal SSPP school will dismiss at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, October 16 for teacher inservice.
Holy Childhood Vicky Compton of the Diocesan Mission Office will be here to speak to the classes about the Holy Childhood Association on Tuesday, October 16. Holy Childhood dues are $1.50 per student.
Please send to the school office.
End of the 1st Quarter The first quarter ends on Friday, October 19. Report Cards will go home Friday, October 26. Kindergarten does not receive a report card for the first semester.
Mission Carnival Each year on Halloween (Wednesday, October 31, 2007) we hold the Mission Carnival on the back parking lot from 12:45 PM to 2:15 PM. Students may dress in Halloween costumes for the
day. Guidelines for Halloween costumes are on page 18 in the Family Handbook.
Games, prizes, food, and drinks will be available at the Carnival. Tickets are 4 for a dollar. All proceeds benefit the Holy Childhood Association.
Week of October 8 12, 2007
No School School will not be in session on Monday, October 8 due to the Columbus Day holiday.
Mustard Seed Project Terri Cranmer of the Mustard Seed Project will visit each class on Tuesday, October 9 to explain how the project helps the poor in Guatemala. SSPP school will sponsor a free
dress day on Thursday, October 11 to help with this project. Send in $1.50 to help with the Mustard Seed Project and wear free dress on Thursday.
Holy Childhood -
All students in the Springfield Diocese are members of the Holy Childhood Association. Each October, SSPP students are enrolled in the Association at mass (Oct. 3) and they promise to help others around the world. If you attended Catholic School you might remember helping pagan babies when you were a child. This is the same program and it has been in existence for over 150 years. Each child is asked to pay annual dues of $1.50 to the Holy Childhood Association and earn the money by helping with chores around the house. Please send the dues to your child's homeroom teacher.
Marquette Open House - Marquette will hold an Open House on Sunday, October 21, 2007 from 1:00 3:00 PM. Everyone is invited to visit the school and meet the teachers.
Parent-Teacher Conferences If you have not turned in your Parent- Teacher conference slip for an appointment on November 8th or 9th, please return your slip to the office as soon as
possible. The After School Program will be available on Thursday, November 8 but not on Friday, November 9.

Macy's Shop For A Cause - We still have Macy's Shop for A Cause Tickets for sale. The tickets are $5.00 each.
With this ticket, you receive $10.00 off any item in the store on Saturday, October 13 and 20% off all purchases. SS. Peter & Paul School receives the $5.00 that you gave for the ticket. We are trying to raise $500.00 for the school. Tickets are available at school and after all the masses. If you already purchased the $5.00 ticket and didn't receive the $10.00 coupon, please see Miss Fischer or Mrs.vonAlmen.
Mission Mass Several of our SSPP students will attend the Diocesan Mission Mass in Springfield on Wednesday, October 3. Permission slips have been sent home with each student.
Parent-Teacher Conferences Appointment requests for Parent-Teacher Conferences are attached to this letter.
We will try to schedule your appointment as close to your requested time as possible, but we cannot make any guarantees. Parent-Teacher slips are due in the school office by Friday, October 5, 2007.
Dinner Auction The 4th annual Dinner Auction is on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at the Lewis & Clark Commons Building at 6:30 PM. Please make your reservations as soon as possible.
