SS. Peter & Paul School Family Newsletter Dear Parents, Thank you for a wonderful school year!!! I hope you have a fun and safe summer!!! Thank you for your continued support of our school! School Calendar – The school calendar for 2008 – 2009, the school supply list, and your child's report card have been sent home today. Please check your child's book bag. School Librarians – A BIG thanks to our school librarians, Mrs. Mary Ann Ruckman and Mrs. Elaine Grove for all of their hard work and dedication to our school library. They have made our library "top notch" and I thank them for their work. PSA – Thanks to our PSA officers – Carla Gillespie, Marsha Houchens, Amy Ballard, Jennifer Mueller, and Jamie Bauer! Many thanks to all of the members of the PSA! You truly make a difference to our school. School office – The school office will be open next week from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Please call to make sure we are here if you need to come by. Opening of School – SSPP school will open on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 with a half day schedule for Grades 1 -8. Kindergarten orientation will be held at 9:00 AM on the 20th. Pre-school
will begin on Monday, August 25, 2008 with orientation at 9:00 AM for the 4 year olds and orientation for the 3 year olds at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, August 26. Week of May 19 – 23, 2008 Last Day of School – SS. Peter & Paul School will dismiss at 10:30 AM on Friday, May 23 after mass and report cards. Students may wear jeans, capris, or long shorts with T-shirt for the day. NO SHORT SHORTS! Clean-Up Day – Thursday, May 22 is clean-up day. Students may wear jeans, capris, or long shorts with a T-shirt for the day. NO SHORT SHORTS! Market Day – All Market Day orders are due on Thursday, May 22. Pickup is Tuesday, June 3 from 5:00 – 6:00 PM in the school cafeteria. Report Cards & Calendars – Report Cards, the 2008 – 2009 school calendar, and the supply list, will be sent home on the last day of school. Library Books – The school library is closed for the year. Please return all library books to school. Spring Fling Raffle Tickets – Don't forget to sell those raffle tickets. Please send stubs and money through the school or contact Amie Dennis @ 466-8634 or 401-2313. We need everyone's participation to make this a success. Eagle Scout Ceremony – We will be honoring our newest Eagle Scouts after the 4:30 PM mass on Saturday, May 31 at a special ceremony. A reception will follow in the school cafeteria. Congratulations to Summer Babysitting – Former SS. Peter & Paul student and Graduate of Marquette is looking for a summer babysitting job. Lifeguard and CPR certified. Trained in babysitting. If interested, please call 618-466-6468. State Transportation Reimbursement – The forms for the State Pupil Transportation Reimbursement are in the school office until the last day of school. You must 11/2 miles from school to qualify for the reimbursement. Please calculate your miles to and from school before coming to the office.
2nd Grade – The 2nd grade students will not have school on Monday, May 5 after First Communion. Congratulations to our students and their families! Schedule Change – Students will have computer on Monday and Tuesday this week and PE on Wednesday and Thursday. Please make sure your child has tennis shoes on for PE class on Wednesday and Thursday. Market Day Pickup – Market Day order pickup day is Tuesday, May 6, 2008 from 5:00 – 6:00 PM in the school gym. Transportation Reimbursement – The forms for the State of Illinois Transportation Reimbursement are in the school office. You must live 1 ½ miles from school to qualify for the reimbursement from the state. Please calculate your mileage to and from school before coming to the office. The forms are available until the last day of school. Fall Registration – Fall Registration forms are now due in the office. Please return your packet to the office so we may compile the information and complete the registration process. Thank you! Talent Show - Mark you calendars!! SS. Peter & Paul School Talent Show will be held on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 7:00 PM in the gym! Fun Day – Fun Day will be held on Thursday, May 15! The PSA will treat the students to lunch for the day. More details will follow! Beans for Jeans Day – Thursday, May 8 is a Beans for Jeans Day. Bring a canned good for the Food Pantry and wear jeans, capris, or long shorts with a nice shirt! NO SHORT SHORTS!
