Minutes from the January PSA Meeting

Miss Fischer began with a prayer.
The November minutes were voted on and approved.
Treasurer Report: Local Checking Account = $6,249.20 Local Savings Account = $715.77 Springfield has a zero balance
- We have paid $4,000 of our $6,000 portion for the SHAPE program so far this year – balance has to be paid by end of school year.
- We have purchased 4 re-conditioned computers and 1 or 2 monitors for the school.
- We have paid $800 for science materials
- We have paid $500 for AR books
Internal Vice President
- Catholic Schools Week is January 26th – 30th. We will kick the week of with Open House at the school on Sunday, January 25th from 10-12:30. The PSA will host a lunch from Moonlight for the teachers on Wednesday, January 28th and
take the kids bowling on Friday, January 30th at River Boat Lanes.
- Santa's Cottage was a success. We sold over $1,785 worth of merchandise. Many thanks to Cris Chesnut and Mary Burkland for organizing the event!
External Vice President (Due to a family emergency, Michelle was not able to attend the meeting.)
- Trivia Night was changed to Saturday, February 28th due to a scheduling conflict at Marquette. The event will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Marquette. We are in need of volunteers to help set up the gym and clean up at the end of the night.
- Market Day – it was voted to try Market Day again. We will plan to have the order forms sent home by Friday, January 23rd.
- Spring Fling is scheduled for Saturday, June 5th. We will start the planning for this event in the next few weeks.
We are going to put together a silent auction and increase the number of baskets. Melodee Hughes and Darla Dooley volunteered to co-chair the silent auction. The silent auction will include special artwork from each of the classes.
- Palm Sunday breakfast is scheduled for Sunday, April 4th. Shelly Eberlin and Bo Dunn will co-chair the event.
- Mother's Day Bracelets – Mark Ayres from M3K wholesale jeweler's presented their fundraiser that we voted on to sell in April in time for Mother's Day.
- Cookie Dough – we are planning on selling cookie dough in March. More information will be given as we get closer.
- We still have SSPP Blankets for sale - $25
Principal's Report/Wish List
- Catholic Schools week events are as follows:
Monday – Annual volleyball game (teachers vs. 8th graders) Tuesday – Blue and Gold Day – no uniforms. Lewis and Clark
Discovery Corp will be visiting the school. Wednesday – Teacher Appreciation Day Thursday – Team Spirit Day – no uniforms. Spelling Bee at 1:00 p.m.
Friday – Bowling for all grades
- Security System Update – the parish decided not to pay for the security system up front and it is now back in the PSA planning budget.
We will put as much of the Trivia Night money towards the security system as possible.
- Desks are still needed
- Miss Fischer has also requested a TV for the computer lab so the teacher can project on a large screen for teaching – instead of running between student.
- In lieu of Fine Arts Day we are planning a Fun Day on May 24th.
Together We're Better Certificates
- Mary Burkland is taking over TWB along with help from Marcia Houchens and Barb Von Allmen
50/50 – The winner for January was the PSA! It was voted to use this money to purchase the TV for the computer lab.
Imo's Hot Lunches – this program is going very well.
