Treasurer Report:

Local Checking Account = $8,060.08
     Local Savings Account = $713.54
     Springfield has a zero balance

Internal Vice President

Michelle explained that she will be organizing the middle school dances, bowling trip, and catholic school week activities.

External Vice President

We will be starting a new fund raiser called Market Day. We will receive a 10% profit from all sales. This will be a monthly program with the pickup day being Tuesday. We discussed arranging a pick up schedule directly after school and later in the afternoon that the after school program parents would need.

Blankets can be purchased for $25.  We have four cases left and will be selling in the church gift shop and every other event possible.

Candle sales will take place in October.

We will sell pies as a separate fund raiser that will come from Market Day in November.

We will sell cookie dough as a separate fund raiser that will come from Market Day in February.

Trivia Night will be February 4, 2004.  It was discussed that a second trivia night be held in the Fall.  We passed on it this year due to lack of time.

We are going to try a Pampered Chef fund raiser in March/April. The school will receive 40% of the sales.

The Spring Fling will be held in May.

Palm Sunday Breakfast – Bo and Shelley volunteered to organize this again this year.

Principal's Report/Wish List

Miss Fisher welcomed everyone and thanked the parents for the large turn out. She presented her wish list that included the following: Accelerated Reading Books, Computers, Desks, Security System & Camera, and Middle School Science Materials.  It was voted to purchase the accelerated reading books and middle school science materials.

Together We're Better Certificates – we are going to try to increase our sales and awareness of this program. It was suggested that a competition be held between classes and the class with the highest amount of certificates sold have a pizza party.

50/50 – Marsha filled quite a few empty slots at the end of the meeting.  The winner for September was Virginia Groves.

Imo's Hot Lunches – this program is going very well.

Fun Raisers – we started to discuss the idea of doing more than just money raising activities for the kids. We were not able to run through the whole list – we ran out of time.

Misc. – Suggestions were made to improve the Spring Fling and put a unique touch to it to make it different than the other churches in our area.  We are going to work on increasing the basket raffle.

The board will be sending home a list of the various fund raisers and ask each parent to volunteer for a certain number of events.  This way the persons in charge of a particular event will have a list of people when they are ready to get started on the project.

Father Roger attended the meeting and mentioned that the participation at the baseball games at Busch Stadium this past summer was less than stellar.  He wanted to remind the parents that their participation is needed in church fund raisers just as much as the PSA events.

It was also mentioned at the meeting that the PSA needs to do a better job of making sure the school fund raisers are made available to the parishioners without school children. We will do a better job of putting the necessary information in the church bulletin and having volunteers after masses in the back of the church during fund raisers.
