SS. Peter and Paul Catholic School founded in 1908, is a co-educational PreK-8 Elementary School, in the Springfield Illinois Diocese. We are located in the heart of Alton’s Historic Christian Hill neighborhood.

Mission Statement

SS. Peter and Paul Catholic School is committed to promoting a Catholic education which combines academic excellence with a concern for the spiritual, moral, social, emotional, cultural, and physical growth of the student.

At SS. Peter and Paul School we emphasize Christian values through Catholic teaching. All faiths are welcome. Our students start their morning with a daily prayer. They participate in weekly mass and Holy Days of Obligation. The children are instructed in Sacramental preparation, as well as opportunity to assume liturgical and serving roles.

We have a tuition program which offers a discount for 2 or more students enrolled at a time, as well as SSPP parishioner verses non-parishioners rates. Tuition assistance is available for those who qualify. Assistance is available to all families through the Illinois tuition tax credit.
